The Dutch shipyard Feadship has unveiled Project FG, a 109-meter superyacht concept.
According to the shipyard, Project Freddie Gump is a “superstar-appealing megayacht design” created for a client whose demeanour is a combination of Forrest Gump and Freddie Mercury.
During last year’s brokers course, the design team from Studio de Voogt collaborated with the Feadship design team to develop the concept.
“Project FG was conceived as a technically feasible design that permits nighttime revelry and daytime relaxation,” the yard added.
Key amenities include an expansive outdoor beach club that can accommodate gatherings of 200 to 300 people. In addition, the yacht is equipped with a panoramic piano salon and a pop-up table tennis table with a transparent wind break at the bow.
A mysterious nightclub for exclusive private gatherings is concealed within the yacht’s centre. 22 passengers will be accommodated on board, and the exterior will have a “orange tint.”
Regarding the concept, designer Jan Schaffers stated that Project FG “needed to be quite regal and majestic” and includes “a variety of characteristics that reflect both personalities.”
Regarding the hidden nightclub, he added, “The guests must find it; there are no directions and the idea is that it is somewhere behind the engine; there is a hidden door, and you enter the club through the belly of the ship.”
Marsha van Buitenen, director of sales for Feadship, added that the fictitious client had “on the one hand, a party attitude, but was also grounded.”
“On the more grounded side, there was Forrest Gump; on the wilder side, there was Freddie Mercury; thus, Freddie Gump was born.”
