According to TMZ, the music moguls indulged in an astounding $200 million for a futuristic mega-mansion in Malibu, surpassing the previous record set by billionaire investor Marc Andreessen in 2021. This exceptional transaction now stands as the second most expensive residential sale in the United States, falling just shy of the $238 million penthouse acquired by hedge fund manager Ken Griffin in 2019 (although Beyoncé and Jay-Z could have surpassed it had they paid the original asking price of $295 million).

Designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando in collaboration with L.A.’s WHY Architects, the concrete-clad mansion was initially commissioned by prominent contemporary art collectors Bill and Maria Bell, who procured the property in 2003 for $14.5 million, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
