Jalen Ramsey, star cornerback formerly of the Miami Dolphins, has opted to sell his exquisite Los Angeles-area residence for $13.995 million, following his trade to the Los Angeles Rams earlier this year.
Nestled within the illustrious Hidden Hills neighborhood, renowned for housing celebrities like the Kardashians and Madonna, this sprawling approximately 10,000-square-foot estate became Ramsey’s acquisition in 2020. He purchased it for approximately $9.5 million from Howie Mandel, the famed host of “America’s Got Talent.” It’s worth noting that the house, originally conceived as an investment property by Mandel, had never been inhabited before Ramsey’s ownership, according to listing agent Lee Mintz of Compass.
Hailing from Tennessee, Ramsey embarked on his quest for an L.A. abode following his trade to the Rams from the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019. The property’s proximity to the Rams’ training facility in Thousand Oaks played a pivotal role in his choice, driven by the desire to evade the notorious Los Angeles traffic. Ramsey revealed that he maintained a list of desired features for his dream home on his phone, and this residence managed to fulfill approximately 90% of those criteria.
Situated on an acre of land, the primary residence boasts a Modern Farmhouse design spanning three levels, comprising a total of six bedrooms, as confirmed by Mintz. The compound boasts enticing amenities, including a movie theater, a bar replete with a wine room, a gym, a sauna, and a basketball court. Outdoors, residents can relish in a pool, a guesthouse, and a built-in barbecue area.
In the wake of his purchase, Ramsey undertook several enhancements to the property, including the construction of a guesthouse, the expansion of the driveway, and an overhaul of the landscaping. He took pride in transforming the garden, creating spaces for relaxation and play for his three young daughters.
Ramsey expressed how the residence provided an ideal environment for quarantine during the pandemic, with its amenities enabling him to partake in various activities within the confines of his property. Even during ordinary times, Ramsey’s celebrity status often complicated his outings, as fans frequently approached him for photographs and autographs.
Though a challenging decision, Ramsey found it impractical to retain the home due to his upcoming significant time commitment in Miami. He disclosed that he is actively seeking a new residence in Miami but consistently compares all prospects to his cherished Los Angeles abode.
Widely acknowledged as one of the NFL’s premier defenders, Ramsey was chosen as the fifth overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016, following a remarkable college career with the Florida State Seminoles.
