Mark Zuckerberg, founder and chief executive officer of Facebook, purchased two adjacent estates in Lake Tahoe, California, to establish a sprawling private compound.

Carousel Estate and Brushwood Estate, two secluded lakefront properties, were acquired in December 2018 and January 2019 respectively. The total cost of the over 10 acre property was $59 million.
