For $10.45M, rapper The Kid Laroi bought a sprawling estate in Los Angeles

You’ve “made it” as a musician when you can buy a Los Angeles house. What sweetens this deal? Realizing it at 19. Don’t feel like a failure. The Indigenous Australian teenager’s rags-to-riches story is inspiring. The rapper, singer, and songwriter from Waterloo, Sydney, has reached career highs most artists take decades to attain. From a number one Billboard song for Justin Bieber’s “Stay” to his first studio album topping the ARIA charts, The Kid Laroi’s move from Sydney to Los Angeles seems imminent.

The musician just moved to LA lately. The rapper rented in Beverly Hills’ Trousdale Estates before buying this Encino estate late last year. No more.According to Dirt.com, Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard, the artist, owns this five-bedroom, six-bathroom Encino Hills mansion. Previous owner? Perla Hudson, Slash’s ex-wife.

The Kid Laroi paid $8.3 M (US$5.5 M) for the 1991 French Normandy-style 6,113-square-foot property on 0.55 acres. Hudson made $3 M (US$2 M) selling the property she acquired in 2017 for $5.3 M (US$3.5 M). Hudson spent time modernizing the early ’90s interior and giving it a rock-star edge.

A black tiled foyer opens into a shimmering blue lap pool, and a sculptural white staircase leads to a bedroom with a large balcony and a luxurious main bathroom with twin basins, a large bathtub, and modern-goth chandeliers and lighting.

The open-plan living rooms feature a dining area, kitchen nook, and two kitchen island seats in black, granite, and wsonge. The spacious living space has a lounge room with a marble fireplace, pool table, and sliding glass doors to the pool, terrace, and grass. Although these are genuine estate shots, we think The Kid Laroi will add his own youthful touch to it.
