Wow, It’s Great to Be Alive Now! Views of Drake’s Toronto Mansion Are Displayed

Should we call it Chateau Drake? The Canadian rapper has created a web frenzy with photos of his megamansion, a work in progress.

Drizzy’s enormous new home is being built in the upscale Bridle Path area of Toronto, where he’ll be neighbors with another celebrated Canadian singer, Gordon Lightfoot.

Based on the images of Drake’s mansion that we’ve seen, it looks like a rapper’s version of Versailles. But as they used to say: #YOLO!

The 2-acre property was reportedly bought by an entity linked to Drake (given  Aubrey Drake Graham) in 2015 for $6.7 M. There was a pretty nice house on the land, but it wasn’t part of his plan. The existing structure was torn down, and the new, custom crib is going up in its place.

Photos of the progress of the humble abode were snagged from Drake’s Instagram stories.

Designed by architect Ferris Rafauli, the spread, reportedly covering 21,000 square feet, will be an opulent, over-the-top manor, offering such amenities as an indoor basketball court, gym, pool, and a hot tub equipped with a large TV screen.

The designer, who has a sizable social media following, also posted a video of the mansion’s progress.

Drake likes Rafauli’s style—the architect created the musician’s members-only Sher Club at the Air Canada Centre. The Toronto-based designer told the Globe and Mail that the two work well together. “I guess you could say we bonded over our love for the finer things.”

It appears that Rafauli has definitely channeled the star’s Champagne lifestyle. According to Toronto Life, Champagne Papi’s pad will include a bar with “chambers for ‘chilled champagne’ and ‘chilled wine.’”

There’s more. The home opens to a two-story foyer. A double-height hall will serve as party central, with covered porches outdoors and an adjacent piano room. Along with a master wing and guest wing, there will be a snack room, an awards room, and a jersey museum for sports memorabilia.

If it matches the blueprints, the posh property will have plenty of space for the star, his real friends, and his stuff.

Drake isn’t new to the real estate game. He’s called Hidden Hills his home since 2012, when he snagged a spread that includes a grotto, sport court, stables, and a recording studio for $7.7 M.

Between his musical megahits and his endorsement deals, the Grammy winner has an estimated net worth of $60 M, according to Forbes. He’s one of the best-selling artists in the 21st century, with more than 10 M albums and 86 M singles sold globally.
