Damson Idris, a fast-rising 29-year-old British actor, spent $3.85 M on a recently renovated home in a wealthy neighborhood in the foothills above L.A.’s Studio City.
In 2018, Idris co-starred opposite Kate Beckinsale in the underrated coming-of-age picture “Farming” and in the Netflix sci-fi action thriller “Outside the Wire.” Idris rose to fame and money with his part as a teenage L.A. dealer in the FX crime thriller “Snowfall.” Idris will produce the fifth season of “Snowfall” next year.
The five-bedroom, 4.5-bath two-story home sits well above the street on a plateau of more than a quarter of an acre notched into a steep hillside. Promo materials call it a “stunning Montecito modern residence” with pale European oak floorboards, designer finishes, and a state-of-the-art home automation system that controls lighting, sound, and security systems. It was built in 1964 and extensively updated in recent years.
The slightly more than 4,700-square-foot open floor plan features a center hall entry flanked by formal living and dining rooms, the latter linked via an over-sized butler’s pantry to a stylish eat-in kitchen with gleaming white and boldly veined black and white marble (or marble-like) counters and gold-toned fixtures on snow-white Shaker-style cabinetry. A wall of floor-to-ceiling windows opens to the garden in the adjacent family room. Two of the four guest bedrooms have private bathrooms, while the other two share a large Jack-and-Jill bath. The master bedroom features a spa-style bath, a walk-in closet, and a serene mountain .
