M51’s New 78m Superyacht Concept That Will Leave You Awestruck

M51 Design Studio has unveiled a new 78-meter concept named Vector 78. The most recent design from the studio draws inspiration from the proportions of smaller powerboats and scales them up for a large, agile superyacht.

The vessel has been designed with an aluminium hull and superstructure, a beam of 12.2 metres, and a draught of 3.2 metres. A walk-around bridge deck can be used for mooring and fendering operations.

A beach club is accessible to the outside world via stern, port and starboard hull openings with an elevated bar, lounge and jacuzzi. This lower deck will also feature a fitness centre, a massage area, and a sauna. All exterior spaces are linked by exterior stairwells, promoting an outdoor presence while at anchor. The full-beam tender garage adjacent to the fitness centre can store multiple tenders, jet skiers, and water toys.

A primary deck aft will accommodate up to 20 guests for al fresco dining, with protection from the elements provided by the deck above. Additionally, there are sunning opportunities on the bow and bridge deck. In order to maintain the integrity of the low profile, a sundeck has been omitted.

The expansive exterior space of the bridge deck lends itself to limitless customization options for prospective proprietors, and could be modified to serve as a touch-and-go helipad or a swimming pool surrounded by fixed sunpads.

Vector is designed to accommodate 12 passengers in seven cabins, including one owner’s cabin, two VIP cabins, and four twin cabins. The master, VIP, and half of the twin cabins are located on the main deck, whereas the remaining cabins are on the lower platform.

Rich, contrasting furnishings are envisaged for the interior of Vector, using a combination of golden fabrics, matte black cladding, and polished steel accents. Lightwood panelling is featured in communal living areas. Thoughtful design elements, such as uninterrupted glazing and fold-out terraces aft, create an inviting environment without compromising the yacht’s shape.

A living area with an open floor plan is the focal point of the main deck’s layout. The strategic positioning of columns creates a subtle separation between entertainment areas for guests.

Vector 78 features a hybrid-electric propulsion system and a range of over 5,000 nautical miles.
