The Ferrari F50 once possessed by heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is anticipated to fetch between $4.5 million and $5.5 million at Gooding & Company’s August 19-20 Pebble Beach auction.
This F50, chassis number 104220, was completed on February 13, 1996. It is painted in the iconic colour Rosso Corsa and is one of only 55 units originally manufactured for the American market.
The auction house discloses that it was conveyed by Ferrari North America to Beverly Hills Sports Car, where it was purchased by broker Nadir Amirvand. It was then soon acquired by Mike Tyson before being sold to Infospace co-founder Kevin Marcus in 2001 via Park Place Ltd.
Over the subsequent two decades, multiple collectors have owned the automobile. In May of this year, the current owner took the vehicle to Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale for a significant service that included the installation of a new clutch and tyres, as well as work on the front suspension lift and air conditioning. It was also recertified for the Ferrari Classiche Red Book, and the Alcantara interior panels were recovered in June 2022. In the past six months, more than $75,000 has been spent on the automobile.
The legendary Ferrari is being offered for sale with its removable hardtop, tool, bulb and tyre inflator kits, leather handbook folio, owner’s manual, warranty book, original window decal, car cover, emergency soft top, factory presentation book and luggage. There are only 6,193 miles (or 9,966 kilometres) on the odometer.
