Drake has many accomplishments, including international chart records and an entire subgenre of music. However, his mobile strip club, a custom Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and private aircraft, dubbed the Air Drake, demonstrate that he does not possess subtle taste.
Air Drake was given the 6 God treatment by Virgil Abloh and what Drake himself refers to as “Abloh Engineering” shortly after receiving the Boeing 767-300F commercial airliner from Cargojet as a sign of their newly-formed partnership around this time last year.
Air Drake’s significantly modified interior features the following, in addition to its distinctive paint job that bears the unmistakable creative imprints of both Abloh and the rapper:
Leather reclining benches and sofas
widescreen television plus projector
a number of apartments
personal dwelling space
exclusive office
Carpeted surfaces
Plenty of gold-like panelling, timber, and mirrors (for some reason, though we may not want to know why).
Drake had previously stated, “No rental, no timeshare.”
“Supporting homegrown businesses has always been a top priority of mine, so when the chance to work with a great Canadian company [like Cargojet] arose, I was thrilled to accept it.”
Ajay Virmani, President & CEO of Cargojet, explains, “We’ve had a long-standing relationship with Drake, and this partnership has developed naturally between both parties.”
“Both Cargojet and Drake are enormous Canadian successes… We are delighted to be collaborating.”
DJ Akademiks, an industry insider, commentator, and custodian of hip-hop drama/gossip, is responsible for the recent video tour. The internet personality posted a brief tour of the aircraft on Instagram, giving the outside world a glimpse into what it’s like to ride with Canada’s most renowned person.
