Maluma, a musician from Latin America, is rapidly approaching superstardom on a global scale. The Grammy-nominated (and Latin Grammy-winning) artist has been sequestered in his contemporary yet comfortable home in the countryside close to his hometown of Medelln, Colombia. He recently gave AD a video tour of the area he refers to as his “sanctuary.”
Maluma adds of his art-filled home, which he has owned for three years and has decorated in a palette of browns and whites, “It feels amazing to be here and enjoy my house.” “I needed this time in my life to enjoy and see all of the things that I have been building for a very long time.”
He says that having a home with an indoor-outdoor atmosphere has long been a goal of his, and this one surely does. High ceilings, glass walls, a floating staircase, and lush greenery are all visible from every aspect in the main living area, which also has high ceilings and glass walls.
The centerpiece is a unique spherical seating area recessed into the light hardwood floor with a sculptural fιre pit in the middle, surrounded by a white piano, a KAWS sculpture, and horse artwork. Maluma says, “I adore having dinner [here] with my family. He claims that Jenga and Uno games are frequently played in another sitting area, which is simply a simple stack of soft rugs and pillows.
The kitchen, which has all-white handleless cabinets, has a Scandinavian flair. Maluma insists on brewing his morning coffee himself and drinks it from one of his many mugs with images of his family members on them on his terrace every morning even though he has a chef quarantining with him. (His collection of baroque Versace cups is less frequently utilized.)
The bottom level of the house displays Maluma’s playful side, while the main floor showcases his eye for design. He claims that it has a Ping-Pong table that gets a lot of usage, a full gym, a movie theater, a blackjack table, and anything else one could possibly need to keep busy while under quarantine.
Access the backyard from this gaming area, which features a framed collection of soccer jerseys, where there is a sizable pool with a modern ivory-colored pool deck, a hot tub, and a meat smoker for barbecues.
