Babyface, the Grammy-winning producer Kenneth Edmonds, is asking $8 million for his nearly two-decade-old residence in Bel-Air.
According to public records, he paid $4.1 million for the property in 2004. Over the years, Edmonds has added custom skylights and a variety of amenities, including a fitness center, music studio, movie theater, and masonry wine cellar.
It is situated on a quarter acre in Bel-Air Crest, a guard-gated enclave containing approximately 200 residences. The residence of Edmonds encompasses over 7,500 square feet and is accessed by two antique, carved wooden entrances.
A two-story entryway adorned with wrought iron and columns establishes a dramatic tone inside. It leads to a formal dining room, a chef’s kitchen, a family room, and a black and white living room with a wet bar.
A three-story floor plan is navigated by an elevator, which ascends to a primary suite with a lounge and spa pool. The upper level also features a wraparound terrace that overlooks a lush rear patio with an outdoor kitchen and swimming pool fed by a waterfall.
Noting the neighborhood’s exclusivity and the size of the home, listing agent Tomer Fridman of Compass referred to it as a “extremely elite product for the market.”
Since the 1980s, Babyface has released eight studio albums, the most recent being 2015’s “Return of the Tender Lover.” The 63-year-old has collaborated with numerous R&B performers, including Bobby Brown, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, TLC, and Usher, as a producer.
