NBA Star Marvin Bagley’s $2M Home Near Sacramento

A youthful NBA player has created an outdoor oasis at his residence near Sacramento, California, but he is prepared to sell the impressive property.

Marvin Bagley III, a forward for the Detroit Pistons, purchased the nearly two-acre property in the Elk Grove, California, suburb after being drafted by the Sacramento Kings in 2018.

The listing price of $1,995,000 has rapidly attracted prospective buyers. The property is already listed as pending sale.

“We have multiple offers on it, and we’re just waiting for the right one to come in,” says Re/Max Gold Fair Oaks listing agent Matthew Hindy.

The Kings selected Duke’s 6’11” Bagley with the second overall selection in the 2018 NBA draft. In February 2022, after three and a half seasons in Sacramento, the Kings traded him to Detroit.

Since selling the home to Bagley five years ago, Hindy has witnessed the athlete’s numerous renovations.

“It has a waterproof jumbotron in the backyard as well as an NBA-sized, full-court basketball court with bleachers and a scoreboard,” says Hindy.

The outdoor grilling area includes a kitchen near the pool as well as a television incorporated into a tree. According to Hindy, approximately $300,000 was spent on outdoor amenities and enhancements.

Two residences are hidden behind three gates on the expansive, completely fenced property. The property is also designated for livestock.

Hindy states, “You can actually have livestock.” “You can have animals such as goats, horses, and dogs, so it’s like having a private oasis resort in your backyard.”

The Mediterranean-style, five-bedroom main home is 4,500 square feet in size.

“One of the rooms was converted into a theater with full blackout shades and reclining seats,” says Hindy, adding that three additional chambers have en suite bathrooms and walk-in closets.

The smaller home on the property is approximately 2,300 square feet in size and includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen, and ample living space.

It is ideal for “multi-generational families with in-laws who want to live with them,” according to Hindy. “Or parents with older children and grandchildren who wish to live close to one another, but not necessarily in the same house.”

Even the personalized scoreboard and giant outdoor television are included in the bargain.

“It’s so unique,” Hindy remarks. “That never occurs. Typically, it would be an outdoor television, but this one is likely 8 feet by 10 feet. You can connect a PlayStation or Xbox and play any game… with complete surround sound throughout the property.”

According to Hindy, such estates are uncommon in the tranquil suburb south of the city. And for the buyer who enjoys entertaining at home, this setup is optimal.

“It is one of those properties where there is no reason to leave unless you’re hungry,” he says. “It has everything.”
