Agon Studio’s Mesmerizing 70m Motor Yacht Concept Redefines Luxury

The Italian designer Studio Agon has unveiled the Horus 70-meter motor vessel concept. It has been jokingly referred to as “Project Zero” by the design studio.

The exterior design, engineered by Francesco Rogantin of NAMES Studio, is influenced by the sporty, iconic lines of J-class sailing yachts and 1960s sports vehicles.

The yacht’s design demonstrates a preference for privacy, as it can port bow-to onto the upper deck. According to the studio, “this allows the owner to experience an innovative homecoming reminiscent of their arrival at their villa in Saint Tropez or Miami.”

There are a master cabin, four VIP cabins, and two guest cabins, all of which are outfitted with full-height glass windows. A louvred design runs along the entire bulwark, providing additional privacy and manual sunlight control in each compartment while maintaining unobstructed views of the ocean.

The owner’s cabin, located aft on the upper deck, is Horus’ crowning achievement. The 100-square-metre space includes two balconies, a private office, a large Jacuzzi, and a 3.5-by-10-metre window with 270-degree sea views.

According to the studio, the interior design is “informal,” characterised by natural materials, and “reminiscent of a luxurious country house.” In keeping with this motif, the concept also includes a soft colour palette, vaulted ceilings, and resin flooring, the latter of which is meant to evoke the calcareous stone found in the masserie of Puglia, Italy.

The main saloon features an original colonnade inspired by a Mexican Hacienda, with columns that minimise the frame of the sliding glass windows to offer unobstructed vistas on three sides of the saloon. A second saloon on the upper deck overlooks the expansive foredeck and features a parlour on the port side, positioned beneath a skylight to allow for ample natural light. Moving aft, there is an additional leisure area with recessed sofas and an enormous television screen.

The bridge deck, which has been designed as a large, multifunctional outdoor space with a see-through glass walkway and a circular sofa with a fire pit, is an unexpected communal space. In addition to the gym and wellness facilities on the lower deck, the tender garage can accommodate two eight-meter tenders, jet skis, and other water toys.

Horus is anticipated to have a maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of over 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots when powered by a hybrid propulsion system.
