Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, a young power couple in entertainment, seem to be suffering from a classic case of celebrity real estate fickleness. Even though they only paid $11 mιllιon for it a little over a year ago, the pop star and “Game of Thrones” alum have listed their opulent 1980s waterfront property in a posh Miami neighborhood for roughly $17 mιllιon .
The Jonas-Turner residence measures about 10,500 square feet and has half a dozen bedrooms and eight and a half bathrooms. It dominates its.37-acre seaside corner site. The house is described in marketing materials as “reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright’s legendary creations.” It also features some of the architect’s distinguishing characteristics, such as airy, light-filled spaces with sizable windows that make it simple to move between indoor and outdoor spaces. These carefully chosen organic materials are also used in novel and unеxpеctеd ways.
To update the space, the couple hired interior designer Sarah Ivory. An amoebic gold-toned coffee table and deeply tufted, low-slung furniture covered in rich jewel-toned fabrics were used as plush foils to the massive double-sided coral stone fireplace and the geometric wood frieze that embellishes the 30-foot-high living room. Water features in the soaring, coral-walled atrium entry were replaced with lush, tropical vertical gardens.
Other highlights include a modern, chef-friendly kitchen designed around a double-wide snack bar island with a stone counter that cascades over the edges, and a formal dining room decorated with hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper featuring a jungle motif. The area has an old-school Palm Beach feel thanks to the vintage Venetian glass chandelier and bamboo chairs painted in a very Lilly Pulitzer shade of green.
In the mostly monochromatic bedrooms, the colors are lighter and more subdued, while in the family room, a meandering Mah Jong sofa by Hans Hopfer is on display, covered in a rainbow of Missoni Home fabrics.
There are two swimming pools outside, one for adults and the other for children, along with beautiful vegetation, emerald carpets of turf, and lit trees. Between the pool and the 94-foot pier that runs dоwn the waterway that offers simple access to both the bay and the open waters of the Atlantic, there is a privacy screen made of a low coral stone wall and a tall row of palm trees.
