Futuristic Floating City: Architects Unveil Plans for Post-Apocalyptic Sanctuary Inspired by Noah’s Ark and SpaceX

On the day of reckoning, these developers plan to escape on a massive floating city.

Japanese architects have unveiled their vision for a post-apocalyptic city, a colossal and buoyant metropolis designed to accommodate around 40,000 individuals.

According to SWNS, a company called N-Ark is developing a solution to the impending catastrophe, drawing inspiration from Elon Musk’s SpaceX and the biblical tale of Noah’s Ark.

The concept, merging elements from religious scriptures and the wealth of billionaires, aims to provide a self-sustaining haven for tens of thousands of people, shielding them from the perils of rising sea levels.

Dogen City will feature various structures, including a sports stadium encompassed by a weather-resistant barrier, which will house a flexible economic zone called New Ocean.

The N-Ark developers elaborate that these structures will have the capability to navigate to different locations as needed, remaining resilient against the impacts of climate change.

Residing within the city, individuals will be able to traverse its entirety in less than an hour, given that its outer perimeter spans a mere 2.4 miles.

Furthermore, the city will house an underwater data center and medical research facilities, in addition to its residential areas.

“N-Ark defines ‘New Ocean’ as the marine equivalent of Space X’s pioneering ‘New Space’ concept,” explains the company in a statement.

“We will introduce various components (medical, food, housing, information, and electricity services) to materialize the concept of New Ocean, inviting diverse companies to participate and fostering marine development activities… Through these efforts, we aim to cultivate maritime innovation and co-create a future with the involvement of businesses, local governments, and universities.”
