Discover the Game-Changing 272-Foot Superyacht Concept with Glass-Bottom Pool and Dual Jacuzzis

The A Group has assembled an A-Team for its most recent concept superyacht. The Monaco-based studio, founded in 1985 by Oceanco co-founder Richard Hein, has teamed up with up-and-coming yacht designer Thibaud Le Merdy to create a 272-foot yacht dubbed Project Comète.

Thibaud created Comète in 2017, the same year he was designated Young Designer of the Year by BOAT International. Now, with the assistance of yachting director Matt Pegrum, Thibaud has been able to refine his vision and realize his ideal vessel.

Comète combines Thibaud’s innovative spirit and new concepts with The A Group’s extensive construction expertise. The vessel has exquisite and dynamic lines, as well as a superstructure that seamlessly integrates with the hull. Its ample dimensions yield a spacious 1,800GT interior with living accommodations that flow seamlessly into the exterior.

“Comète could be described as the first project that brings the outside in and the inside out due to her revolutionary arrangement,” a representative for The A Group told Robb Report in an email.

The layout provides accommodations for 12 visitors and 22 crew members. The owner’s suite features a private terrace measuring just under 1,300 square feet and offering expansive views of the ocean. In addition, the ship has a covered exterior saloon that is approximately 2,400 square feet in size, a sauna that overlooks the bow, and two jacuzzis for good measure. The upper deck’s glass-bottom pool is the true pièce de résistance, as it takes the show.

The studio adds, “This design is the result of the perfect balance between open spaces to the surrounding nature and refined, clean forms.”

Obviously, Project Comète carries an abundance of tools. The spacious garage can accommodate two 33-foot tenders, one 23-foot crew tender, and a minimum of eight Jet Skis. Regarding propulsion, the vessel’s maximum speed will be 16 knots and its cruising speed will be 12 knots.
