Snoop Dogg Unveils His Newest Ride: A Head-Turning 1970 Buick Skylark with a Dazzling Wrap

The majority of us spend all of our time on social media today. We’re always there, whether we’re keeping up with friends and family, reporting on our recent vacation, reading the news, or seeking inspiration for work. Social media platforms are also beneficial for business. Moreover, Snoop Dogg is undoubtedly current. Because, as it turns out, the rapper acquired his most recent classic automobile via Instagram direct message.

The new ride is a 1970 Buick Skylark convertible, and he spotted it on the Instagram account of car customizer Spokes-N-Vogues. Consequently, he decided he desired it.

Initially, the classic had a candy-green exterior, which was not what the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” musician had in mind. The 1970 Buick Skylark would not be the first vintage in the rapper’s collection, so he knew precisely what he wanted: a wrap that would attract attention. He chose a vinyl wrap in chrome from HEXIS America. The model he chose reportedly comes in a hue dubbed “tangerine orange chrome,” and the wrap’s official name is HEXIS Super Chrome Orange; a black soft top has been added. In addition, the vehicle received gold aftermarket rims with spokes.

Additionally, a protective ceramic coating from Gtechniq and brown leather upholstery were added to the cabin. And, if you know Snoop Dogg, customization will also be involved. If he decorated the trunk of his 1968 Mercury with a painting of the Lakers and a tribute to Kobe Bryant, the trunk lid of this vehicle also features modifications. However, the neon letters allude to his own album, “Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not Told,” released in 1998. The grille bears Snoop’s name, and the logo of his record label, Death Row Records, is set in place of the Buick emblem, further indicating the car’s new owner.

This Skylark belongs to the second iteration of the model, which Buick introduced in 1968. The two-door models have a shorter wheelbase than the four-door models. Snoop’s vehicle is a two-door convertible. In 1970, the base engine was a 250-cc (4.1-liter) inline-six, with V8s available as options. Snoop’s Skylark appears to be the 350-cc (5.7-liter), 315-horsepower model.

The vehicle appears to have been completed earlier this year, but on January 25 Snoop decided to share it with the world via his Instagram account.

1958 Lincoln Continental Mark III with custom Bentley interior, 1980 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air, and a series of customized Cadillacs, including 1967 DeVille, 1968 Coupe DeVille, and 1974 Snoop DeVille Lowrider.

However, this is not the first time Snoop has purchased a vehicle from Spokes & Vogues. Despite their apparent dissimilarity, the rapper brought his 1968 Mercury Cougar to the Los Angeles, California-based auto shop for an upgrade in 2021.

This time, the car he observed at Spokes-N-Vogues was in Gulfport, Mississippi, but the business is located in Huntsville, Alabama. Spokes-N-Vogues’ “Big Lee” Adams recalls that Snoops’ DM said something to the effect of, “I want to buy it, but I want your touch on it.” Adams disclosed that he subsequently sent his own phone number so they could work out the details. Now, he is ecstatic with the outcome, calling it a “great work.”
