Unveiling the Exquisite $23M Ultra-Modern Miami Beach Residence of NBA Star Hassan Whiteside

Hassan Whiteside, a center for the NBA’s Miami Heat, hopes to capitalize on the city’s booming real estate market. Recently, the athlete listed his Miami Beach property for $23 million.

Whiteside acquired the residence in 2016 while playing for the Miami Heat. Although the athlete currently plays for the Utah Jazz (the team was recently eliminated from the NBA Playoffs by the Dallas Mavericks), he retained the Miami property to use during his off-seasons. In 2016, after signing a four-year, $98 million contract with the Heat, he purchased the property. He was the team’s most utilized player at the time.

Why he was so attached to this sanctuary on Surprise Lake, just off Miami Beach’s coveted Biscayne Bay, is not surprising. Modern and futuristic, the home’s sculptural entryway, flanked by a koi pond and manicured landscaping, will appeal to design enthusiasts. A crimson spiral staircase is also visible from the exterior through double-height windows.

The six-bedroom, six-bathroom residence at 528 Lakeview Court, located at the end of a private cul-de-sac, has two levels of expansive living space. After purchasing the property, Whiteside added several new features, including a rooftop pergola with synthetic grass and a movie theater. According to listing agent Joe Azar of Compass, he spent a couple million dollars on home improvements in total.

“He is an avid fisherman and added a custom aquarium in the kitchen with his initials, as well as a koi pond near the front door,” Azar says.

In addition, there are 100 feet of water frontage, a private dock, a large pool, an outdoor kitchen, and a cabana. The residence is bright and spacious due to its double-height ceilings, stark white walls, and light wood floors.

Floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors provide convenient access to the outdoors on both levels. The first floor opens to the expansive veranda and swimming pool, while the second floor opens to a spacious glass-enclosed terrace. Numerous balconies make it simple to appreciate the Miami weather.

Whiteside, a professional basketball player with a three-year-old son, is selling his home, according to Azar, in order to locate a larger home with more outdoor space for his family.

Azar also mentions that Whiteside is a car enthusiast who was attracted to the home’s pie-shaped driveway, which provides ample space for vehicles.

“Because there is so much parking space, he converted the two-car garage into a custom-training fitness facility,” says Azar. “However, there is also a covered carport for two vehicles. You lose no parking spaces but acquire a fantastic gym.”
