Damson Idris and his girlfriend live happily in Freshly Remodeled $3.9M Studio City Home

British actor Damson Idris, 29, has not yet reached the pinnacle of household name status in Hollywood, but in his relatively short showbiz career, he has amassed enough wealth to purchase a recently renovated home in a posh neighbourhood that winds through the foothills above L.A.’s popular Studio City for $3.85 million.

Idris co-starred with Kate Beckinsale in the underappreciated 2018 coming-of-age film “Farming” and, earlier this year, in the poorly received Netflix science fiction action film “Outside the Wire.” However, it is Idris’s starring role as a young drug dealer in the FX crime drama “Snowfall” that has paved the way for his ascent up the renown and fortune ladder. In fact, Idris has been given a producer credit for the forthcoming fifth season of “Snowfall,” which will premiere next year.

The two-story, five-bedroom, and 4.5-bathroom home was constructed in 1964 and extensively renovated in recent years. It is described in marketing materials as a “stunning Montecito modern residence” with pale European oak floorboards, designer finishes, and a home automation system that controls lighting, sound, and security.

The slightly more than 4,700-square-foot open floor plan features a centre hall entry flanked by formal living and dining rooms, the latter linked via an over-sized butler’s pantry to a snazzily appointed eat-in kitchen outfitted with gleaming white and boldly veined black and white marble (or marble-like) counters and gold-toned fixtures on snow-white Shaker-style cabinetry. A wall of floor-to-ceiling windows opens the adjoining family room to the rear. Two of the four guest bedrooms have their own private bathroom, while the other two share a capacious Jack-and-Jill-style bath. The master bedroom features a calming mountain view, a walk-in closet, and a spa-like bathroom.

The not particularly large but enviably private backyard is simply landscaped for almost effortless maintenance and is carved into the steep, custom-planted slope behind the house. It features extensive concrete terracing, a built-in grill along with built-in benches, a patch of evergreen Astroturf, and a trapezoidal plunge pool and spa.
