The German shipyard Mavea Yachts has unveiled the SLYDER 80, a 24 metre luxury catamaran with a focus on sustainability.

According to Markus Kuhner, managing director of Mavea Yachts, the SLYDER 80 will utilise a combination of solar and electric power to create a “fast, fun, luxurious, spacious, and future-proof” catamaran in collaboration with German yacht designer Matthias Krenz.

The Slyder 80, a composite vessel with a beam of nearly eleven metres and an elevation of over two metres, offers spacious living areas with ample headroom. A 38-square-meter main saloon accommodates up to eight guests and welcomes visitors upon boarding.

The model features a 215 square metre mainsail with three reefs and a pair of 70 – 100 kW electric motors with shaft propulsion in terms of performance. It will be able to attain speeds in excess of 24 knots under sail and 10 knots under power.

The SLYDER 80, according to its manufacturer, combines the elegance of a Cafe Racer monohull with the performance and accommodation of a luxury catamaran.
