Nedship Group Unveils the Revolutionary Green Explorer: A Dream Come True

Nedship Group, a successful Turkish superyacht constructor renowned for its zero-emission solar-powered catamarans, has joined forces with Swedish yacht designer Dennis Ingemansson to envision a 65-meter green explorer.

The images below may not do justice to this concept, but they do help us visualize the large picture. The primary specifications of this explorer yacht include a Hybrid Power System that will allow the vessel to reach a top speed of 15 knots and continue sailing for up to 6,000 nautical miles.

This concept will impress up to twelve passengers with 210 square meters of solar cells, retractable wind turbines, and skysails, while a crew of seven will ensure that they thoroughly enjoy the experience.

The Green Explorer utilises alternative energy sources to reduce its carbon footprint and safeguard the environment. The skysail was created to reduce the energy consumption of the engines and generators, but the helicopter platform and additional weight may render this effort futile. This is where wind turbines could be useful.

This vessel will be constructed with a steel superstructure and ice classification 1A, allowing it access to some of the world’s most remote regions. In addition, the yacht has secure areas for tenders, toys, and submarines, as well as a diving centre with a decompression chamber; who says only Jacques Cousteau can discover and investigate the planet’s hidden regions?
